Favorite Tattoo Artist :-Anil Gupta
What inspired you to become a tattoo artist?
It was by default I had an accident around 10 years back and was on crutches for 6 months and that time I thought what’s that one profession where you don’t have to move much and you can earn money also, so I decided to learn this art and have never looked back, now I personally teach other aspirants and running four studios of my own which are in Defence Colony, Amar Colony , Hauz Khas Village, and Rajouri Garden.
What was your first tattoo ever?
Some Kanji style I did on myself as its an unsaid myth that if you are planning to become a tattoo artist you have to ink yourself first.
What are your biggest strengths as a tattoo artist?
My ability to listen carefully and understands what client requires and to make them comfortable because mostly one is really anxious, scared and apprehensive about getting inked & if you can make a client comfortable, half your battle is won.
Have you ever taken formal art training from a younger age or are you self-taught?
Yes my formal training was from Lokesh Verma then you are of your own, I m still learning.
What are your biggest challenges as a tattoo artist?
Everyday is a new challenge to give the best whether it’s a small or big piece as whatever you would be doing would be for keeps, you can’t take yourself lightly not at all. On lighter note my mantra is simple “Tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe tattoo dunga”.
