What inspired you to become a tattoo artist?
I have always been keen on learning new mediums to express my love for arts and I thought of learning the art of tattooing after getting my first tattoo at Kraayonz in Mumbai. It was a memory that stuck with me, on my skin, so that is what a tattoo is, a memory and that’s what inspired me to become a tattoo artist.
Which body parts are you most comfortable making a tattoo on?
I am comfortable tattooing on most of the body parts except the abdomen because that area is a bit difficult to reach and is a constantly moving part as the person has to breathe.
How do you console a person who is experiencing pain while drawing a tattoo?
I usually don’t like to talk while tattooing so that I can concentrate on the job at hand but when the person is experiencing too much pain I try to distract them by asking questions and talking about their life.
What do you feel was one of your biggest struggles as a tattoo artist?
The biggest struggle or obstacle I had was in the early days of my career when I injured my wrist while practicing a dance routine as I was also B-Boying at the same time. I couldn’t tattoo for a while because the tattoo machine would feel heavy and had a hard time recovering from the injury.
From where are your personal art and designs inspired?
I gather a lot of inspiration by the events and festivals that take place around me but it’s mostly a lot of Indian traditional designs that inspire my personal artworks.
