What inspired you to be a DJ?
Right from my School Days, I used to sit and write lyrics, keep myself updated with every pop song that was around that time (late 90’s). I knew I wanted to be in the Music Scene, back then. If I wouldn’t have been a DJ, I would have been a Drummer or a Guitarist. But I knew, the first time I ever saw a Turntable, DJ-ing is what I was born to do.
If you had to switch your style to another genre, what would it be?
If I really have to pick one genre of music that I would play forever, It would be House.
Who is your biggest inspiration? / Who do you have a lot of respect for?
My Biggest Inspiration is personally will always be David Guetta. A lot of people now call him as a Sell out. But to me, he has taken a Rough Hit to make it here. From Residency after Residency, Falling from the path many times, I could connect myself with him. He has built a bridge between Black Music and White Music, which in the last 8-10 years has made its way to be called as Pop/Commercial. Collabrating with Top Pop stars of USA such as Black Eyed Peas, Akon and more, as a House DJ, no one thought of it back then.
If he wasn’t there, there wouldn’t be any Chainsmokers or Calvin Harris making the sound which he came up with.
How do you get the crowd pumped?
It all depends on the venue and the type of show I get booked for. If I’m playing at a Club, I would take the energy level from Zero to Hundred as over that 4 or 5 hours of Set that I do. But every time I play for a Campus Show or a Concert, which would have about 5000 as a base audience, You need to pace it fast. Kick off the show with Future House and build it to Main Room Sounds.
Do you have a specialty?
Yes. I have always been told I’m a Great Hip Hop DJ on Saturday Nights, but I also receive a roar of compliments when I do a Techno or a Progressive Set on a Friday/Sunday Sundowners. Over the time, I have found myself to be a Versatile artist who can play almost every genre with its originality and be good at it. From Hip-Hop to Retro/Classics to House and Techno. I’m good at opening sets and I personally love this. Anyone can play the main set, but to master the art of opening for another artist, it took me 10 years to reach here.
