DJ Akade, real name Amit Kadel, was born in the city of joy – Kolkata, India to a non-musical family. At the age of 15, he discovered his love for music, it started as a hobby and turned out to be his passion. DJ Akade started DJing in 2010 playing at various private gigs then later got into music production. In 2014 he started a new music project as AKADE.
DJ Akade has received radio supports from international DJs like Hardwell, Tiesto, Nicky Romero, Lost Frequencies, Timmy Trumpet, Blasterjaxx, UmmetOzcan, Sick Individuals, Yves v, Firebeatz, Tritonal, We Are Loud, DJ Juicy Mand more.
He plays for Asia’s Biggest Music Festival – SUNBURN FESTIVAL.
DJ Akade has performed in reputed campuses all over India and also alongside Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, Kshmr, Nucleya, Justin Mylo& more.
What inspired you to be a DJ?
When I was in school I used to attend festival parties (Navratri & Christmas Eve mainly) at my college. There I used to watch my seniors playing DJ sets and I imagine myself playing in front of my friends & college crowd. It all started from then. I was actually fascinated by the new trend and day by day my interest started developing. Then with time and maturity, it turned out to be my passion and wanted to make a career in the Music Industry.
What does your Artist name mean and where did it come from
Akade has derived from my real name Amit Kadel.
What are your influences?
David Guetta for multi genre Music Production.
Afrojack for DJ sets.
How do you write your songs?
I use FL Studio for composing my songs. I start with a chord progression then the top melody and lastly the arrangement. I also use reference tracks for comparing the mix and production.
Describe your sound for someone who’s never heard you?
I produce Progressive House, Future Bounce, Moombahton, Pop& Trap.
