Why did you decide/inspired to start a food blog?
I always loved food, eating out and exploring new places, cooking and travelling. It was my passion for food and travel that led to the foundation of Thecrazyindianfoodie. It started out as a recipe based website but slowly developed into a social media influential platform where people could read and know about the latest restaurants, events, travel destinations and more.
What’s your blog about? Who reads it? How long have you been blogging?
Thecrazyindianfoodie is all about food and travel. I cover restaurants, events, hotels, destinations and more on my website and social media channels. I’m always roaming around Mumbai and beyond and trying to curate good content for my audience. I have over 150k followers/likes in all on Instagram and Facebook and an ever growing number of viewers on the website.
My audience is based in Mumbai and beyond, across borders. Its been 2 and a half years since the blog was founded.
What do you think food blogging will look like in 5 years?
With the increasing number of people joining social media platforms, the smartphone revolution and growing number of food establishments, food blogging is growing too. There will probably a major diversion into digital content in a few years. I believe in growing with the times so we have expanded our reach to various other platforms that should see progress in the coming years.
Which part of blogging excites you most: the recipe development, the post writing, or the photography?
It’s a blend of all of the above that is exciting but the most challenging and invigorating part is the post writing. I always strive to put better, strong content that will keep my audience engaged. The butterflies on posting every blog, the generous response and the love from my viewers is what keeps me going.
Is there any event you are especially looking forward to this year?
There is lots of exciting stuff coming up in 2018. A lot of events where the viewers can get a chance to interact with me and also try different varieties of food are in the planning stage. There will be cooking workshops, food walks and more apart from exciting trips on the travel front.
