What is the story behind your blog’s name?
My blog is all about keeping it simple and minimalistic. Hence, the blog as you could guess is foodndestinations. I have been travelling and being a North Indian – a total admirer of food since childhood now. All credits goes to my parents who have to discover a new place a year since I was born. A destination can be anything in my per say whether discovering a new city, a new event, an offbeat location, or a new spa or store. Hence, this sums up for a food, travel and lifestyle blogging.
Why did you decide/inspired to start a food blog?
As said I have always been travelling and love for food runs in my family. So after I shifted to Bangalore for my job, I got to visit hundreds of new places and their idea or style of food on a plate. So the concept of just making people’s life better in choices of lifestyle, food and travel, I decided to pen down my opinions.
What’s your blog about? Who reads it? How long have you been blogging?
My blog is about the new places and cuisines you should check out in local city. Along with the events you should look forward and the offbeat travelling in India. Lately I have also started writing some close to heart recipes that I usually cook mostly of which is good you always order in restaurants and wanted to look for healthier and homemade alternative. So the people who live away from home as me, should definitely check out the recipes. I have been blogging for 2+ years now.
What do you think food blogging will look like in 5 years?
Food blogging is for sure growing rapidly and every now and then a new person in on the block. With the growth of Instagram and other social platforms, people are for sure getting more attracted towards the easier platform. The industry for sure will boom with both awesome as well as crappy content. It is upon the readers to choose. The one keeping up with the rapid changing trends and staying true to the content will rise.
Which part of blogging excites you most: the recipe development, the post writing, or the photography?
As I am trying more stuff on cooking and recipes now-a-days, the recipe development is a key part which I love doing. Another thing that I have directed my focus is styling and the composition of the picture when I am photographing it. Styling is a beautiful job and is sure opens up my creative side.
Is there any event you are especially looking forward to this year?
Not particular event right now, but I love attending WOAP i.e., World On A Plate that happens every year in Bangalore. Other than that, Christmas and New Year is my favourite time of the year, where I visit my family and go on a vacation, discovering some new lands.
What are the three most popular posts ever on your blog?
The most popular posts on my blog include A travel post describing the “5 Offbeat things to do in Wayanad”
Second most popular is a recipe of Cheese Pockets from scratch.
Third one is also a recipe which I love from all my heart – Garlic Breadsticks Domino’s style.
Do you have any special blogging tip for new bloggers?
First till will to be innovative in your content. Copying will be lead nowhere. We just have to be true to our content and have faith. Second and foremost will be lots of patience to keep up because it takes a lot time to make a stand in blogging.
