Blogger JERLYN FOOD FANATIC by Jerlyn Dsilva:-
Hi! I am Jerlyn Dsilva and I am a lifestyle blogger based out of Pune. Blogger JERLYN FOOD FANATIC by Jerlyn Dsilva have been blogging for the past 6 years now and Blogger JERLYN FOOD FANATIC by Jerlyn Dsilva also known as the ‘Radiowali Ladki’ as Blogger JERLYN FOOD FANATIC by Jerlyn Dsilva have worked with the radio in the past.
What is the story behind your blog’s name?
So my blog name is JerlynFoodFanatic.Clearly, I wanted my blog to carry my name in it and I think the food fanatic part is pretty much self-explanatory. It defines excessive zeal towards what I do.
Why did you decide/inspired to start a food blog?
Fun story! I have been an ardent food lover since childhood and my mum is a really good cook.I love to explore and try out new cuisines, places and meet new people. One fine day,the explorer in me landed up at a food fest which was a big fail and met an elderly lady waiting at the ticket counter to collect her ticket and for the gates to open.We struck up a conversation and discovered that our love for food is eternal.
Upon speaking to the lady,I came to know that she is a blogger in New York and back then I didn’t know what blogs are!She simplified it for me and encouraged me to start my own blog. Initially,I found it boring but then I realized this is my thing and started taking interest in developing better content. And hey, whoever I am today,is because of that lady, and her name is Seby Singh. She is my mentor and if I wouldn’t have met her, I wouldn’t have known what blogging is all about. They say you meet the right people at the right time and that’s what happened with me.I owe you big time Seby!
What’s your blog about? Who reads it? How long have you been blogging?
Well,my blog is primarily about food but it also carries content that revolves around luxury properties, staycations, spas etc.So there’s no harm in terming it as a Lifestyle Blog but food shall always be my first priority!I’ve been blogging for the past 6 years now and was one of the few bloggers in town when Pune was introduced to the blogging scene. It’s now safe to say – Been there, done that.
Is there any event you are especially looking forward to this year?
I am looking forward to the Orange Flower Awards as I’ve been in the top 5 food writers in India for the past 2 years and of course the most awaited blogger awards of the year,The FBAI Awards which take place in Mumbai each year.
Which part of blogging excites you most: the recipe development, the post writing, or the photography?
Well,I love writing.I have flair for it and love expressing my love for food through my blog.I love breaking it down for people in simple words and share my experiences through the same.I also enjoy clicking pictures as it’s the most important thing because the person eats with his eyes first and it’s the visuals that he remembers for long. So I pick up that camera and shoot.
What do you think food blogging will look like in 5 years?
The city has seen a boom of bloggers in the past 2 years and there are so many bloggers who are coming up with great content. And it feels great that people are now aware of what exactly is this fraternity all about. Feels good when people know what bloggers do and I feel there’s a great scope and a bright future for this particular fraternity!
What are the three most popular posts ever on your blog?
I’ve received a lot of appreciation for almost all my articles but the top three would be :
Staycation at Courtyard By Marriott
Blog on Kode, Mumbai
Blog on authentic Ethopian Food in Pune at Abyssinian
