Hyderabad Food Diaries:-
Hyderabad Food Diaries blog is all about exploring new & old places across the city. It consists of anything & everything related to restaurants, street food, food courts, star hotels, clubs, lounges, etc.
What is the story behind your blog’s name?
I blog with the name Hyderabad Food Diaries. I wanted to be a bridge between common people & F&B sector. I wanted to spread awareness about Hyderabad’s food scene & thus HFD was born.
Why did you decide/inspired to start a food blog?
I have a lot of friends from north India who would visit me in Hyderabad and ask only about one thing, “ BiryanikahanMilegi?”. The urge to educating and spreading awareness about Hyderabad’s food & nightlife made me start Hyderabad Food Diaries.
What’s your blog about? Who reads it? How long have you been blogging?
My Blog is all about exploring new & old places across the city. It consists of anything & everything related to restaurants, street food, food courts, star hotels, clubs, lounges, etc. The general audience is the younger generation aged between 15 to 28 yrs old. Though I have been exploring places from 8yrs, blogging started in 2017.
What do you think food blogging will look like in 5 years?
A Career Option! So this is a very subjective question because “sustainable” to me looks very different than it does to other people, depending on life circumstances. But here is my situation. I’d say it took me nearly 2 years of blogging full-time until I realized I could make this a sustainable, long-term career. Because I had more time to devote to the blog, I was able to throw myself more intensely into improving my content, building my readership, reaching out to brands and companies I wanted to work for, promoting myself like a crazy person on social media, networking, etc. So fast-forward few years, more paid opportunities, networking, improving my content, and I am now taking in an income that is able to sustain my blog expenses, pay some of my bills.
Which part of blogging excites you most: the recipe development, the post writing, or the photography?
Honestly even I am confused at times, is it a journal about the food I’m cooking, the stuff I’m eating, restaurants I’m visiting? Or is it a license to gawk at bowls, plates, and cups, thinking of props and stopping at random places to look at discarded pieces of wood that can be used as a rustic background for your images? I say this because I have done all this and more.
