What is your blog about? Who reads it? How long have you been blogging?
My blog is about food. You can find detailed step by step recipes with images for every recipe. I also talk about food photography at times. People who love cooking, new to cooking, or want to know about Bengali and Indian cuisines are regular to my blog. People who enjoy good food photography are also followed my blog. I started at 2012, It’s been 6 years I’m blogging.
What is the story behind your blog’s name?
Cooking has always fascinated me. How different nonrelated items blend together to create something so delectable has its own charm. And different spices play the main role behind this magic. I find spices, especially Indian spices, are truly magical, either the aroma or the colors. The vibrant color range always attracted me, so when I started my blog these two words color and spices were first that came to my mind, hence the name color and spices.
Why did you decide/inspired to start a food blog?
I started blogging in 2012. I used to post about my cooking and recipes on different Facebook cooking groups. My friends, family, as well as online friends requested me to start a blog and document all the recipes for future use. I wanted to spread the love of cooking to others. My intention is to encourage others to find out cooking can be a creative pleasure. So one fine day I started my venture of documenting my cooking venture and spreading the love for food n cooking.
Which part of blogging excites you most: the recipe development, the post writing, or the photography?
It’s difficult to compare among these three. I love food photography, also enjoy recipe development and it’s my pleasure to share all the details of a recipe as lucidly possible to my readers. But if I have to choose then Food photography will be the winner.
Is there any event you are especially looking forward to this year?
I always look forward to all the festivals of India, as food is an integral part of all the festivities. I also enjoy taking photographs of people during the festivities.

Chitrangada Kundu being brought up in a Bengali joint family, her first inspirations are her grandmother, mother, and aunts. She has seen them cooking everyday food, those simple yet unforgettable dishes are like magic to her. She always wanted to know the spell that can create those magic. So she simply cooked to recreate the magic that overwhelmed her throughout her childhood.
Due to her love for food she did not restrict herself to only Bengali cuisines but try out all the regional cuisines as well as world cuisines. As food and cooking give her immense joy and pleasure she likes to spread the love for the same through her blog. Cooking is a never-ending learning process. She is still learning. The recipes she shares on her blog are that she has inherited, learned, tries and tasted. And while blogging she learnt about food photography, that’s a new passion and she is enjoying this self-learning thoroughly.
