When did you realize that you are funny and you need to let the world know that you are funny?
I think its just something that I grew up with. I kind of grew up in an environment filled with laughter with my dad and my uncles when we’re all together the only goal is to make each other laugh. At a young age I was exposed to unabashed, uncensored down-right filthy humour from the people raising me so I’ve grown up seeing the world as one big joke. Also I’m a terrible dancer and have no musical potential at all so I’ve always relied on being funny when my parents told me to perform my talents.
What are you Laughter Secrets?
Lot of my ideas are WUIs … Written Under the Influence. Also I got lucky to have a crazy set of friends like I do, never will there be a dearth of material.

I got to perform as an opening act for a big comedian in front of an audience of over 1000 people. And when that first joke landed and the audience laughed and I got that applause break, it threw me off … I wasn’t expecting that much validation because up until then validation had been in small doses. Suddenly this was a tsunami of validation and it truly felt amazing but I think its done terrible things for my ego now.
What happens if people do not laugh at your jokes?
When I come up with a joke, in my head, I’m thinking that I’m a comedy genius… this joke is going to change voting patterns or some self-congratulatory thing. Then once I test it out on an audience that’s when I know whether it works or doesn’t. Every joke goes through rigorous testing on different audiences and sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t and overtime the bit will always work. Yet there can still be that day when you’re using all your best material and the audience is just not having any of it … it hurts! You start contemplating all your life decisions that you’ve made with a soundtrack on loop in your head of every teacher and annoying relative going “LOSER! LOSER!” … that’s what happens when people don’t laugh … all you have to do is do the same thing the next day and hope you get some laughs!
What advice would you give new comedians just starting out?
Don’t! The market is saturated and I don’t want more competition 🙂 But on a lighter note, if you want to do it, just do it. Put your head down and write and just be relentless about getting on stage and getting better.
