What is the story behind your blog’s name?
It’s based on Kolkata’s rich cultural heritage which basically focuses on the lip-smacking delicacies that the City of Joy has to offer, be it restaurant food or street food.
Why did you decide/inspired to start a food blog?
To me blogging is generally the theoretical version of that what we consume everyday! Writing down about what we’re consuming daily is something that I love to do! And being an ardent foodie since time immemorial, I often used to write up on online social media platforms about restaurants which gave me the idea of opening an Instagram Blog.
What’s your blog about? Who reads it? How long have you been blogging?
It’s been almost 2 years now! Firstly, I used to jot down my restaurant experience but as time went by, I thought of featuring the daily food that I loved on social media so as to promote it among everyone so that people get to know about what and why to consume in Kolkata. It’s all about good food that we always crave for.
What do you think food blogging will look like in 5 years?
It has become saturated now with almost a new ‘wannabe’ blogger coming up everyday with no idea or concept of food. I don’t know where it’ll land in the future. Now-a-days people hardly do it for passion. Everyone is behind money. Alas, blogging is already in danger.
Which part of blogging excites you most: the recipe development, the post writing, or the photography?
Photography. Being a food photographer, I love clicking good photos of the food that I’m going to have. Patience is the key to me. So I’ll wait for the perfect click before I dig into the delicacy!
