What is the story behind your blog’s name?
I was just looking for some food blog pages based out of Kolkata on Instagram one day & when I couldn’t find any, I started myself. Yes, that’s it. An idea that changed my entire life. KolkataFoodie was inspired from the very popular blog ‘MumbaiFoodie’
Why did you decide/inspired to start a food blog?
I started my blog journey 3 years back. Before that, I only created content for my Instagram page. The response on my Instagram page was crazy. People wanted to me share more and more, so that’s how the blog came in the picture. My followers have always been so kind to me & they really appreciate and love my recommendations.
What is your blog about? Who reads it? How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging for three years now and my blog talks about restaurant/street food and recipes. I have a diploma in Bakery and Pastry Arts so that helps me create recipes for my followers who are mostly young kids in school and college.
Which part of blogging excites you most: the recipe development, the post writing, or the photography?
I’ve always had a keen interest in baking since my childhood. And blogging pretty much has given me the opportunity to do what I love. So for me creating recipes are more fun but at the same time, it requires patience, skill and a lot of thinking.
Do you have any special blogging tip for new bloggers?
o Create content that your followers want and need.
o Content is king, but so is photography.
o Read other blogs especially the ones in your niche.
o Be consistent & follow up with your readers.
o Pick a social media platform and focus on communication with your readers.
o Focus on building an audience & share your knowledge with them.
