What is the story behind your blog’s name?
Cupcakeree was the name of my home-based baking business. I created an Instagram account to share photos of my cupcakes, but never ended up posting any photos… I was so busy with my baking orders that I never had time to post.
What’s your blog about? Who reads it? How long have you been blogging?
My Instagram account features the food I make at home. I share mostly quick & easy recipes with a focus on healthy & wholesome ingredients. On occasion I also make indulgent food, because life is all about striking a balance. Via Instagram I have connected with like-minded food lovers from across the globe, but the majority of my followers happen to be Indian women. I have been actively posting on Instagram for three years now.
Which part of blogging excites you most: the recipe development, the post writing, or the photography?
I really enjoy trying new recipes, but having a background in art & design, I like phtographing the food I make even more.
Do you have any special blogging tip for new bloggers?
Focus on what you are passionate about and master that skill to the best of your ability. Don’t be dictated by trends. Stay true to what YOU want to do. Share your passion with the world without the expectation of attention or applause. As long as you are happy with the work you put out, that’s all that really matters. Once you are comitted to your cause, success will follow.

To Reethika, food is love… it not only has the power to nourish, but also to comfort and to heal. Much as she likes cooking and trying out new recipes, she doesn’t like spending hours in the kitchen on a daily basis. So a lot of her everyday cooking tends to be simple and fuss-free. But that doesn’t mean she cuts corners. Reethika cooks for her family every single day. Her meals incorporate healthy fats, lean protein, raw & cooked vegetables and gluten-free whole grains. She admits to having a major sweet tooth which she now keeps satisfied with healthier alternatives like date or fruit sweetened desserts.
Her personal food journey has evolved over time. Being a child who loved to eat, she grew up struggling with her weight. Post a life-altering spine surgery in 2012, she decided to take charge of her health. That was when she started to cook more, eat out less and stick to a regular exercise routine.
Now she tries to make healthy choices as much as possible. She makes a conscious effort to cut back on refined sugar, gluten and processed foods in her diet. Over the years, she has come to enjoy cooking simple, wholesome meals for her family, who (fortunately) share her love for homemade food. She tries to strike a balance, staying mostly healthy, but sometimes giving into temptation.
